How Much Do Donor Eggs Cost?
Egg donation pricing is genuinely confusing, and that is an industry-wide problem we try to simplify. There are multiple cost components: donor compensation, agency fees, your clinic’s fees, and medications. We walk through all of them with you so you know exactly what you are investing in and why. No surprises.
Your total out-of-pocket cost will also depend on your fertility insurance coverage and your chosen clinic. The figures below cover the Donor Nexus program fees. Clinic fees, medications, and PGT-A testing are separate and billed through your fertility clinic.

Fresh Matching Program
In a fresh one-on-one cycle, you are matched with one egg donor and receive all viable eggs from her retrieval. Rather than purchasing a set number of eggs, you are investing in a full donor cycle. This is often the strongest option if you want a higher potential number of embryos or are planning for future siblings.
Pricing Tiers
Core: Donor compensation under $20,000 – Total fees from $29,600+
Select: Donor compensation $20,000+ – Total fees from $50,000 to $80,000+
Signature: Highest compensation tier – Total fees from $100,000+ – Contact us for pricing.
Donors set their own compensation with guidance from our team. The tier reflects the donor’s chosen compensation amount, which is the primary driver of cost variation. Travel needs and individual circumstances can also factor in. We provide a detailed cost estimate before you confirm a match, so you always know what to expect.

Frozen Egg Bank
$19,500 to $29,500 USD per cohort of 6 eggs
If you want more predictable pricing and a faster timeline, the Frozen Egg Bank may be the better fit. Pricing varies less than fresh cycles; there is no donor cycle coordination to wait for, and frozen eggs can be shipped to your clinic domestically or internationally (shipping included).
Pricing can vary based on the donor’s compensation preferences, experience, and the number of available eggs. Each cohort includes our Blastocyst Embryo Guarantee (see Guarantees section below).
If a donor has additional frozen eggs available and you are interested, more can be shipped for an additional cost.

Donor Egg FAQ: Financial Considerations
What does a donor egg cycle cost?
Fresh donor cycles start at $29,600 USD. Frozen donor egg cohorts of six eggs range from $19,500 to $29,500 USD. These fees include donor compensation and all donor-related costs. Your clinic fees, medications, and insurance coverage will affect your total out-of-pocket cost.
Can I use a loan?
Yes. We partner with CapexMD, which specializes in fertility financing. Visit their website to explore your options and apply. We also have an IVF Grants page with financial assistance opportunities worth looking at.
How does donor compensation work?
Each donor sets her own compensation — we don't cap it or dictate it. We provide guidance on typical ranges and what's realistic, but the final number is hers. Unlike some agencies, we also cover all travel, lodging, and companion expenses separately, so those costs never come out of her compensation. We believe that donors who feel respected and well-supported are more engaged and committed throughout the process — and that's a better experience for everyone.
How do payments work?
You can pay your cycle fee in up to two installments. You'll receive a clear payment schedule with your agreement so there are no surprises.
What if the cycle doesn't go as planned?
For fresh cycles: if a genetic incompatibility is found after matching, you can choose a new donor or receive a full deposit refund minus any hold fees. If the donor doesn't pass medical screening, you can choose a new donor at no additional agency cost or receive a refund minus a $2,500 administration fee and any costs already disbursed.
For frozen eggs: our Blastocyst Embryo Guarantee means that if at least one blastocyst isn't achieved by day 7 and semen analysis criteria are met, you qualify for a replacement cohort at no additional cost.
Donor Embryo Program

Donor Embryo FAQ: Financial Considerations
How much does embryo donation cost?
The Donor Nexus embryo donation program fee is $9,400 USD. This includes 1–3 embryos from your selected profile — giving you multiple chances to be successful. Pre-testing, medications, and the frozen embryo transfer procedure itself are handled through your fertility clinic and are not included. We'd rather be upfront about what's included and what isn't so you can plan accordingly.
Can I use a loan?
Yes. We work with CapexMD, which specializes in fertility financing. Visit their website to explore options and apply.
Do you accept insurance?
Donor Nexus doesn't bill insurance directly. However, your fertility clinic likely does accept insurance and can run a benefits check to see if your transfer, medications, or pre-testing are covered. If they are, the clinic should be able to remove those costs from your cycle fee and bills your insurance directly.
What if I decide not to move forward?
If you don't receive medical clearance from the physician , you receive a full refund. If you decide not to proceed before medications are ordered, you receive a full refund minus a $2,500 administration fee. If you cancel after medications have started, there is no refund. We know this is a big decision, and we try to structure our policies to protect you as much as possible.
What if my cycle isn't successful?
If your donor embryo cycle doesn't result in a positive pregnancy and you have no remaining embryos from your original alloted lot, you receive $1,000 off another lot of embryos. subsequent cycle. This discount is valid for 12 months from the date of your transfer. Limitations may apply.
What Affects Donor Egg Costs?
Donor compensation: Each donor sets her own compensation with our guidance. This is the single biggest variable in pricing. We communicate compensation details upfront so there are no surprises.
Program type: The Fresh Matching Program costs more than the Frozen Egg Bank because it includes a full one-on-one stimulation and retrieval cycle. The Frozen Egg Bank offers lower upfront costs with less pricing variation.
Travel and logistics: For fresh cycles, donor travel, accommodations, and outside monitoring are included in your program fee.
Donor experience: Donors who have successfully completed previous cycles may choose higher compensation, which is reflected in the tier.
What Your Investment Covers
Safety and Professional Management
Screening: Psychological evaluation and genetic counseling for every donor.
Legal protections: Independent legal representation for the donor and secure escrow management.
Agency coordination: Our team manages every detail of the cycle, from match through retrieval, so nothing falls through the cracks.
A Donor-First Approach That Benefits You
When donors are treated with respect and compensated fairly, cycles run more smoothly and outcomes improve. Here is how that works in practice:
Donor autonomy: Each donor sets her own compensation. Fresh donors can choose from a wider range than frozen egg banking donors.
Zero deductions: We cover all donor travel, lodging, and support separately. Donors receive their full compensation with nothing taken out.
Ongoing support: Donors receive clear communication and dedicated case management throughout their cycle. This reduces cancellations and no-shows.
70% of our cycles come from repeat donors. That tells you how donors feel about working with us, and it directly benefits you.

How Payments Work
For both the Fresh Matching Program and Frozen Egg Bank, you can pay in up to two installments. You receive a clear payment schedule with your program agreement.
First payment (deposit): Secures your egg donor or frozen egg cohort.
Second payment (remaining balance): For fresh cycles, due upon medical clearance. For the Frozen Egg Bank, due when eggs are ready to ship.
Financial Assistance and Financing
Flexible Payment Installments
Both fresh and frozen programs can be paid in up to two installments with a clear schedule so nothing is unexpected.
Fertility Loans Through CapexMD
We partner with CapexMD to offer financing tailored to fertility treatment. Apply directly through their website. Note: A transaction fee is added to your second installment based on the total loan amount.
IVF Grants
Visit our IVF Grants Page for financial assistance opportunities that may help offset costs.
Insurance Guidance
We can help you determine whether any part of your treatment is covered by your health insurance or employer benefits. Coverage varies, so confirming directly with your insurer is recommended.

Refund Policy and Guarantees
Fresh Matching Program
If the donor is not genetically compatible with your sperm provider after matching, you may select a new donor or receive a full refund of your deposit minus any hold fees paid.
If the donor does not pass medical screening at your fertility clinic, you may choose a new donor at no additional agency cost or receive a refund minus a $2,500 administration fee plus any fees already paid on the donor’s behalf.
Frozen Egg Bank (Blastocyst Embryo Guarantee)
We guarantee at least one blastocyst suitable for transfer, freeze, or biopsy by day 7 per cohort of 6 eggs. If the guarantee is not met and semen analysis criteria are satisfied (greater than 1 million total progressively motile sperm), you may qualify for a replacement cohort.
Donor Embryo Program
The number of embryos received depends on the specific profile and availability.
- Genetically tested (PGT) profiles typically include 1–3 embryos
- Untested profiles may include 3 or more embryos, depending on availability
In many cases, recipients have multiple embryos available, allowing for more than one transfer attempt within the program fee.
Donor Egg Pricing FAQ
What’s included in donor egg pricing?
Program fees cover donor compensation, travel, legal representation, psychological and genetic screening, temporary medical insurance, escrow management, and full agency coordination.
Does insurance cover donor egg costs?
Coverage varies. Some plans cover portions of IVF treatment but not egg donation fees. Donor-related medical costs are often treated separately. We recommend confirming directly with your insurer and HR team.
Is a fresh cycle more expensive than a frozen one?
Generally, yes. Fresh cycles include a full one-on-one stimulation and retrieval, and you receive all retrieved eggs, which can lead to more embryos and greater long-term family-building potential. The Frozen Egg Bank offers lower upfront costs, faster timelines, and less pricing variation.
Who determines donor compensation?
Donors do. We provide guidance, but we do not cap or dictate compensation amounts. This is reflected transparently in the pricing tier.
Do I pay the donor directly?
No. All donor-related payments are managed through a secure third-party escrow account coordinated by Donor Nexus.
Why do prices vary between donors?
The donor’s chosen compensation is the primary variable. Travel needs, location, and experience level also factor in. We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach to donor compensation.
Is there flexibility in pricing?
Yes. Because we take a personalized approach, we can work with you to achieve your goals and stay within your budget. Contact us to discuss your situation.
How much are donor medications?
Medication costs vary by protocol and pharmacy and are billed through your fertility clinic, not through Donor Nexus. Your clinic can provide an estimate.
What are the legal fees for?
Legal fees cover the donor’s independent legal representation and the proper execution of all required agreements. Intended parents are not required to have their own attorney, but may choose to hire one specializing in third-party reproduction contracts. We can provide referrals.
Is PGT-A testing included?
No. PGT-A testing is optional and coordinated through your fertility clinic.
What are embryo storage fees?
Your fertility clinic sets the embryo storage fees, which vary by location. Your clinic can provide specific annual costs.
