7 Best Egg Donation Agencies and Egg Banks in 2026

Last updated August 2026. Every figure below comes from the provider's own published source.

At Donor Nexus, we believe your path to parenthood should be defined by what works best for you. But that can be hard to find when you are overwhelmed with choices, including which egg bank or donor agency to work with.

Which egg donation agency or egg bank is best for you?

The best egg donation agency or egg bank comes down to which model fits your situation: a frozen egg bank (fastest, affordable, eggs already in storage) or a fresh matching agency (a donor cycle run for you, costs more and takes longer, but yields more eggs).

Beyond the model, the programs below differ most on what outcome data they publish, how clearly they price, what their guarantees actually cover, and whether you can keep your own clinic.

Model: Fresh matching agency, frozen egg bank, and donor embryo program

Best fit: Intended parents who want more choice, whether that's comparing fresh and frozen donor eggs or considering a donor embryo, with varying levels of openness for each.

Location: Newport Beach, California

Founded: 2012

Works with your existing clinic. Donor Nexus coordinates directly with whichever fertility clinic you use, including ones it has not worked with before. If you have not chosen a clinic yet, it has partnered with 150+ clinics over 14 years and can suggest options near you.

Published outcomes

Donor Nexus publishes outcome data for each program separately, current through 2025. Pregnancy and live birth data are held by your own clinic and are not reported back, so Donor Nexus does not publish it.

Fresh Matching Program

Funnel chart of Donor Nexus average outcomes per fresh matching cycle, 2012 to 2025: 28.9 eggs retrieved, 22.6 mature MII eggs, 18.2 fertilized via ICSI, and 7.2 PGT-A normal euploid embryos, or about 3 mature eggs per euploid embryo.

Frozen Egg Bank, per 6-egg cohort, 2012-2025
  • 90.7% egg survival rate after thaw
  • 83.1% fertilization rate of survived eggs (ICSI fertilization)
  • 81.1% of patients obtained at least one embryo
  • 60.5% of patients obtained two or more embryos
Guarantees
  • The Frozen Egg Bank includes a blastocyst guarantee:  At least one blastocyst suitable for transfer, freezing, or biopsy by day 7 per 6-egg cohort. Requires semen criteria to be met.  Does not guarantee a euploid embryo.
  • The Fresh Matching Program does not carry a formal guarantee. Fresh cycles come with published outcome data instead: an average of 7.2 euploid embryos per retrieval,  so multiple chances for success are built into the program without the need to upgrade for additional guarantees.
Pricing
  • Frozen Egg Bank: $19,500 to $29,500 per 6-egg cohort. Includes the Blastocyst Embryo Guarantee.
  • Fresh Matching Program from $29,600. Pricing includes donor compensation, travel expenses, agency fees, psychological evaluation, genetic counseling, donor legal fees, escrow fees, and temporary donor medical insurance.

5. Cofertility

No public reviews

Not BBB Accredited

Best for: Intended parents who prefer a non-cash-compensation donor model.

Model: Fresh and frozen egg donation, egg sharing structure

LocationLos Angeles, California

Founded: 2022

Cofertility works exclusively under an egg sharing model where donors receive no cash compensation and instead keep half the eggs retrieved. Intended parents receive the other half.

Published outcomes

Cofertility does not appear to publicly share thaw survival, fertilization, embryo development, or pregnancy rates.

Guarantees
  • Fresh: at least two blastocyst embryos, across a maximum of three total retrievals. If you're eligible for a rematch, your Cofertility coordination fee will be waived, but you will cover the clinic and third-party expenses for the new donor's screening and retrieval.
  • Frozen: 6 to 9 eggs guarantees 1 blastocyst embryo; 10 to 15 guarantees 2; 16 to 21 guarantees 3; 22 or more guarantees 4. Cofertility rematches you with a new donor at no additional Cofertility fee, using a full or partial cohort.
  • Not covered in both guarantees: a genetically normal (euploid) embryo, or anything after the embryo creation phase, including transfer outcomes, PGT-A results, and pregnancy or live birth.
Pricing

Fresh is a $500 match initiation fee, a $10,000 coordination fee, and roughly $6,500 in third-party expenses covering legal, background checks, storage, and insurance. You will be responsible for any additional costs related to the donor's travel.

Important to note: splitting a retrieval means fewer eggs to you than a full fresh cycle at a traditional agency.

Frozen is a $500 match initiation fee, then priced per egg on a sliding scale: $3,500 each for 6 to 9 eggs, $3,300 each for 10 to 15 eggs, and $3,100 each for 16 or more eggs. Their own worked example puts a 7-egg cohort at $24,500.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an egg bank and an egg donation agency?

An egg bank stores eggs that have already been retrieved and vitrified, so once you select a donor, the eggs ship to your clinic within weeks. An agency coordinates a fresh cycle in which a donor stimulates and retrieves specifically for you, which takes several months but typically produces far more eggs. Some programs, including Donor Nexus, operate both.

Which egg bank has the best success rates?

No direct ranking is possible from public data, because programs measure different things over different periods and report them on different bases.

Among those publishing figures with a year range: Donor Nexus reports 90.7% egg thaw survival and 81.1% of patients obtaining at least one blastocyst, 2012 to 2025. Fairfax reports a 67% pregnancy rate for 2025, averaged across its partner clinics. Donor Egg Bank USA reports a 63% pregnancy rate across 2012 to 2023.

Once eggs or embryos reach your clinic, what happens next depends on that clinic's lab, your treatment plan, and your own medical picture. Pregnancy and live birth data sits with your treating physician and is not systematically reported back.

If you see a live birth rate advertised, ask which clinics and which patients are in the denominator, what years it covers, and how many cycles sit behind it.

Where to start

If Donor Nexus is one of the programs you are considering, browsing is free and the database includes fresh matching donors, frozen egg cohorts, and donor embryos in one place. If you are ready to reach out, our team will walk you through all three programs against your timeline and budget, and tell you when another program here is the better fit.
